Description

Kant Fasteners- Stud Bolt Manufacturers

A stud is essentially a threaded rod that comes in various designs available at the stud bolts manufacturers. It often looks like a machine screw without the head portion. Although certain studs do have heads, these get permanently fused with their attached segments.

Stud fasteners are often created to be permanently fastened to a single part, establishing a means of securing a different element in conjunction with a nut. These types of studs produced by the best stud bolt manufacturers in India can be welded, bonded, or swaged to attach them and may, consequently, possess a small head to facilitate this.

Some studs have threads on both ends. In a few cases, these are both designed to accept nuts; such a stud variety is called a stud bolt.

As reliable metal stud manufacturers, Kant Fasteners offer a wide range of Stud Bolts, with ready stock for export and supply. We manufacture high-quality stud bolts with a unique style and are often used in the construction, engineering, and automobile sectors.

As stud bolts manufacturers can tell you, a stud might have a self-tapping thread on one end, designed to be permanently screwed into a component, and a machine thread at the other end to accept a nut.

As stainless steel stud bolt manufacturers, some common types of stud we offer include:

  • Double-end stud bolts: They possess equal lengths of threading at both ends, designed to hold a nut, with a shank in the center.
  • Fully-threaded stud bolt: As the best stud bolt manufacturers in India, we also offer the fully-threaded stud bolt, essentially just the length of a threaded rod. Stud or studding is also a term used to refer to a threaded rod. These are used to fasten larger parts together, using nuts at both ends to form a bolt. This type of stud has several other uses, like providing an adjustable member for structures and machines. Nuts can be moved over a considerable distance along the bar while also generating a large force.
  • Tap-end stud bolts: These have a short length of thread at one end, intended to be screwed into a tapered hole. They also have a shank and extended threading on the other end to enable them to accept a nut.
  • Weld bolt: Many stud manufacturers in India offer full-length machine threading with a thin, wide head, making welding easier, usually to steel fabrication, giving it a permanently attached stud.
  • Clinch stud: They have tiny tapered heads with teeth intended to securely swage themselves into sheet metals after being tightened.
  • Bonding stud: They have full-length threading with a broad, flat head, usually with holes in it. Created to be bonded with components to provide a durable metal stud.
  • Dowel screw: As a stud manufacturer, we offer studs with a wood screw at one of the ends and a machine screw at the other. They are intended to be lastingly screwed into wood. A socket at the end of the machine screw or a hexagonal form between the two threads is tightening.

Kant Fasteners is one of the leading Stud Bolts Manufacturers in India. We, Kant Fasteners, supply Stud Bolts in different sizes & standards to various industries for diverse requirements. Our steel stud bolts are also ideal for use in high temperature or high-pressure operations.

ASTM A193 specification covers alloy steel and stainless steel bolting material for pressure vessels, valves, flanges, and fittings for high temperature or high pressure service, or other special purpose applications.

Several grades are covered, including ferritic steels and austenitic stainless steels designated B5, B8, and so forth.

Selection will depend upon design, service conditions, mechanical properties, and high temperature characteristics.

Material according to ASTM A193 B7 is often available in national coarse (UNC) thread pitches, if being used in traditional applications, threads are specified 8 threads per inch (tpi) for diameters above 1 inch.

Below is a summary of a few of the common grades.

Grade Raw Material

C -Typical steel compositions used for this grade include 4140, 4142, 4145, 4140H, 4142H, and 4145H.

Chemical Composition Range

D -For bar sizes over 31⁄2 in. [90 mm], inclusive, the carbon content may be 0.50 %, max. For the B7M grade, a minimum carbon content of 0.28 % is permitted, provided that the required tensile properties are met in the section sizes involved; the use of AISI 4130 or 4130H is allowed.
E -Total of soluble and insoluble.

Mechanical Properties

A- To meet the tensile requirements, the Brinell hardness shall be over 200 HB (93 HRB).
B- Class 1 is solution treated. Class 1A is solution treated in the finished condition for corrosion resistance; heat treatment is critical due to physical property requirement.
Class 2 is solution treated and strain hardened. Austenitic steels in the strain-hardened condition may not show uniform properties throughout the section particularly in sizes over 3⁄4 in. in diameter.
C- For sizes 3⁄4 in. in diameter and smaller, a maximum hardness of 241 HB (100 HRB) is permitted.
D- For diameters 11⁄2 and over, centre (core) properties may be lower than indicated by test reports which are based on values determined at 1⁄2 radius.

Mechanical Properties- (Metric Products)

A- To meet the tensile requirements, the Brinell hardness shall be over 200 HB (93 HRB).
B- Class 1 is solution treated. Class 1A is solution treated in the finished condition for corrosion resistance; heat treatment is critical due to physical property requirement.
Class 2 is solution treated and strain hardened. Austenitic steels in the strain-hardened condition may not show uniform properties throughout the section particularly in sizes over M20 mm in diameter.

ASTM A194 specification covers a variety of carbon, alloy, and martensitic and austenitic stainless-steel nuts. These nuts are intended for high-pressure or high-temperature service, or both. Bars from which the nuts are made shall be hot wrought.
According to ASTM A194 the material may be further processed by centreless grinding or by cold drawing. Austenitic stainless steel may be solution annealed or annealed and strain hardened. Each alloy shall conform to the chemical composition requirements prescribed. Hardness tests, proof of load tests, and cone proof load tests shall be made to all nuts to meet the requirements specified.

ASTM A194 stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other.

Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the specification. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets.

ASTM A194 covers size range 1/4” through 4 in. and metric M6 through M100 nominal. It also covers austenitic stainless-steel nuts in the size range 1/4” in. and M6 nominal and above.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can find ASTM A 193: B7, B7M, B16, B8, B8M, ISO 898 1 Grade: 8.8, 10.9 & 12.9 standards at the top stud manufacturers in India.

Stud bolts manufacturers in India offer studs that start from M 50 up to M 2000, 2” up to 78.”

It’s convenient to replace broken or wearer bolts with a full-threaded stud. With the help of two nuts on the eighter side, one can easily replace bolts. Its general practice is seen worldwide and is recommended by stud bolts manufacturers everywhere. Later stud bolt & two or more nuts assembly can replace it if needed.
In some cases, yes, a stud and nut combination is stronger than a bolt.
Yes. You can obtain the necessary products from any stud manufacturer out there, like Kant.
A thread lubricant reduces friction, which is a crucial element in thread galling. Or there are some outstanding PTFE-based coatings for stainless steel fasteners. They can drastically reduce the frictional coefficient.

You can use coarse threads as they have a larger thread allowance and are more tolerant to rough handling.

Sometimes, an increase in speed during installation increases the heat between the threads. As the best Stud Bolts manufacturers in India, we suggest that lowering the wrench speed during installation and removal can help avoid galling.
